If you’ve been looking for a fishing paradise, your search is over! When it comes to angling, the Lake of the Woods area is — year round — second to none in the Midwest. At Ballard’s, our motto is “Large Enough to Serve You, Small Enough to Know You,” and you’ll find that we’re committed to honoring that sentiment at all times. Whether it’s our comfortable and modern cabins, our beautiful and spacious lodge, or even our fully stocked restaurant, you’ll find that our goal is to make your fishing adventure as enjoyable as possible.

Of course, fishing isn’t the only attraction we have to offer. You’ll find a variety of recreational activities such as hiking, biking, wilderness drives, water sports, snowmobiling, golf, miles of sandy beach, and scenic seaplane flights. We are a four-season resort destination, and offer something for everyone.

Then again, it’s hard not to focus on the fishing when it’s this good! We’ve got guided trips that will show beginner and expert alike the top spots. While our summer fishing is outstanding in itself (we’re on the shore of a veritable walleye factory), our winter fishing is unbeatable, with our comfortable angling houses placed in all the perfect spots. Finally, we offer the Walleye Connection, a series of all-inclusive vacations (including round trip on a luxury coach) that are perfect for your family, private organization or business associates.

The Main Lodge

With the beautiful waterfront view, the lodge serves as an excellent gathering place to sit and converse with friends or to make new acquaintances. From an early morning breakfast to a late dinner, the lodge offers food and a full service bar. You may select a package plan that includes some or all of your meals.

Restaurant

With more cabins come more people, and the need for more dining space in our Riverside Restaurant. To satisfy this growing need, we’ve eliminated the whirlpool/sauna area of the lodge, and replaced it with an expanded section for dining.

With the new addition, we can now seat another twenty people in our restaurant, and this section is connected to the main dining area. The total number of people the room will now accommodate is sixty. If you include the eating space in the bar area, we’re actually capable of seating one hundred people throughout the entire facility.

Bar

After dinner, move over to our attractive bar for a relaxing evening of conversation and fun with colleagues and friends. Our fully stocked, newly remodeled bar attracts resort guests and locals alike, all eager to share stories of their day’s adventures on the lake. Whether you’re here for a week or just a weekend getaway, our lounge provides a great place to kick back and enjoy yourself when you’re not out fishing the lake.
