The Lake

Hot Dog!  August Walleyes!

Sportfans…  Break out the helmets…  The walleyes have been flying in over the sides of the gunnels…

Yep.  It’s August.  And it’s truly one of those times that Lake of the Woods really shines.

Both weather and fishing have been quite good these past three to four days.  We’re gettin’ ‘em.

Techniques?  (1) anchor and jig-a-thon,  (2) drifting spinners in the mud-flats,  (3) pulling spinners over the rock reefs.

A pluthera of options…

The best bet, with some prevailing west wind, has been from Birch Beach on up to Long Point.  Our guides have been anchoring and or drifting live bait.  Pending the day and situation each has been productive.

Depths up at “The Point” have ranged from 31 to 35 feet of water.  And the trophy walleyes have been a highlight!

Wow.  It’s August.  A trophy fish month.  We’re excited.

Set the hook!
