The Lake 

More of the same…

Sportfans…  It’s been gangbusters the past day or two here on The Woods.

Walleyes!  Weather!  Wonderful!

Being out there (on the big lake) right now, during the mid-summer bite, gives the impression of those “days” that you just never want to see come to an end.  Do you know what I mean?

The winds are moderate.  The air temps are in the upper 70’s.  The sky is blue.  The sun is bright.  And those late July walleyes are HUNGRY!

Yes.  These are the days that every walleye fishermen wishes would never end.

Yesterday, late in the afternoon,  I sampled the Sisters Reefs just for kicks.  It was good.  Darn good.

Pulling spinners with crawlers / leeches / minnows pretty much did the trick.  No trophies for us yesterday afternoon, but we certainly saw some quality fish.

What’s on the radar?  More great weather.  More great fishing.  This is certainly “one of those times” to be on Minnesota’s Lake of the Woods.
